Write your own Math Project
I thought that the semester exam project was interesting. I thought that It was a good exercise in understanding the concepts that we are learning. I thought that it was good and empowering to be able to know what is on our test so that we could study. However I also thought that it would be nice to be able to do a project that was more relevant to the real world, or to the community because exams are important to be able to master but I do not believe that they are what math is about. All in all I think that our projects will be balanced to master many aspects of math in life. I am going to go in every morning and study with Hannah Starbuck for this upcoming test. This semester was a process for me. I think that i did an excellent job managing my time and work with cross country, I am proud of this skill and will need to continue to implement it. I think that I want to improve my test taking skills. I think that i will do this with more aided study and possibly a tutor. All in all I think that this was a rigorous year of math for me.
Junior Math DP Reflection
1) I am exhibiting the first project that we did this year. That is the Landscape and linear lines project in which I made a picture out of the six different kind of linear equations.
2) This project has shown me that there are multiple different ways of approaching a picture and that if you approach it from the right way something messy and difficult may turn into a beautiful mosaic.
3) During this project I learned about the six different kinds of linear equations. I learned that math can create beautiful art. I learned that as a worker I work hard, but often need help understanding things that are simple to other people.

Reflection: During the linear equation landscape project I drew 7 types of linear equations on graph paper and then creatively drew a landscape out of these lines. I used the elements of a linear inequality to shade in different places. By applying an image of abstract dynamic mountains and canyons I was able to experience how math is incorporated in our world. I learned that the biggest aim of math is to observe patterns and structures in nature both abstract and concrete so that we can understand the intricate systems and realities that consist of our existences, both tangible and not.
Questions:
1) What would you do differently if you were exhibiting your project again?
- If I were exhibiting my project again I would have taken more time into refining my poster.
2) What do you see as your greatest strengths and weaknesses moving forward into future math classes?
- I see that my greatest weakness in math is the different pace and focus I need compared to other students when learning math. I see that my biggest strength is advocating to get help with my learning styles and abilities.
